The Kalas Foundation (jointly founded, funded and supported by Kalas Manufacturing Inc., Sylvin Technologies, Inc, and WICU Inc.) was founded in 2009.
The mission of The Kalas Foundation is to improve the quality of life in communities where Kalas associates live and work. Community involvement is an integral part of our core values and is carried out through a program of grant-making, volunteerism and leadership in community service. Grants are made to feed the hungry, education initiatives, support breast cancer initiatives, provide disaster relief and assist local grassroots organizations. The Foundation relies on an associate advisory committee to recommend the most appropriate and effective use of Foundation resources in the community. A key factor in their decision-making process is sustainability.
The Foundation also encourages Kalas associates to get involved in their communities, become volunteers for charitable organizations and, in short, do their part to improve the lives of others. A few projects we participate in each year are as follows: enter a team in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, play Santa Claus to a local nursing home and collect food for a local women’s shelter.
Only proposals from 501(c)(3) organizations are considered. The Foundation does not support endowment campaigns; conferences or conventions; other foundations; individuals; medical research organizations; golf tournaments and other sports events.
