Kalas hosted an incredibly successful visit with our partners from Caterpillar on Tuesday, July 10. All three shifts of our engineered cable products division were a part of the celebration and helped to welcome our valued guests.

We are excited to announce the addition of Penny Boonpoon to Kalas. Penny joins our finance & accounting team as a financial analyst supporting our divisional leadership teams. She began her education in her native country, Thailand in electronics engineering, and has since held positions in quality engineering, product development as well as a wide assortment of roles with financial planning responsibilities. Penny is a recent graduate of the Fox School of Business, Temple University with an MBA in Finance.
On June 12th, Volvo hosted a Supplier Information Exchange Day at their New River Valley Plant in Dublin, Virginia. Three suppliers were invited to meet with Volvo’s logistics team for an overview of their returnable program (emballage) and a tour of NRV with a focus on operational excellence. Chris Gockley, Wanda McCue and Darlene Garcia from our office made the trip and were very impressed.

Congratulations to the Kalas “Yellow Army” for its incredible showing at the first annual Lancaster JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes. More than 160 Kalas associates and their family & friends showed up for the one mile walk, and raised a total of more than $25,000!

Although charitable giving has been a priority and core value of the Kalas organization for more than a half century, for the first time we are lending both personal and corporate support to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) upcoming event, and ask you to join our efforts by lending your support.
On Sunday, May 20, Lancaster will host its first annual Walk to Cure Diabetes at our local HACC campus. The event will begin at 9:30 AM, and the one mile walk will start at 11:00 AM.
